(MPI) - The Prime Minister has issued the Roadmap for implementing Vietnam's sustainable development goals under Decision No. 841/QD-TTg, in which the Ministry of Planning and Investment is assigned to preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and agencies to review, supplement and update the set of sustainable development statistical indicators of Vietnam to be consistent with the promulgated updated Roadmap and the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles and the Appendix to the List of national statistical indicators of the Statistics Law.

To carry out the assigned tasks, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (General Statistics Office) has drafted a "Circular regulating the set of sustainable development statistical indicators of Vietnam" to amend and replace the set of sustainable development statistical indicators of Vietnam stipulated in Circular No. 03/2019/TT-BKHĐT dated January 22, 2019 of the Minister of Planning and Investment. The draft has been sent to ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies; the Supreme People's Court; the Supreme People's Procuracy; the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities and the Statistics Offices of provinces and centrally run cities for comments.

The draft stipulates the set of sustainable development statistical indicators of Vietnam, including: List of sustainable development statistical indicators of Vietnam and content of sustainable development statistical indicators of Vietnam; applicable to agencies, organizations and individuals providing statistical information, producing statistical information and using statistical information on sustainable development goals of Vietnam.

Vietnam's set of sustainable development statistical indicators is a set of statistical indicators related to many sectors, fields, and regional linkages to provide data to assess the implementation of Vietnam's sustainable development goals.

According to the Draft, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (General Statistics Office) shall preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to collect and synthesize statistical information on Vietnam's sustainable development statistical indicators to ensure the provision of complete, accurate, timely statistical data and meet international comparison requirements; Develop and perfect forms of collecting information on Vietnam's sustainable development statistical indicators. At the same time, build a statistical database for Vietnam's sustainable development statistical indicators and regularly disseminate statistical information on Vietnam's sustainable development statistical indicators.

Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy and relevant agencies, based on the set of sustainable development statistical indicators of Vietnam, are responsible for collecting and synthesizing assigned indicators and providing them to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (General Statistics Office) for synthesis and compilation./.
