VHO - The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province has just issued document No. 2778/UBND-NCVX to the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Finance regarding the policy of building a scientific dossier on the Quy Nhon Port relic - The 300-day site of troop movement to the North to rank it as a national relic.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed to assign the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with the Quy Nhon City People's Committee and relevant units and individuals to urgently survey and build a scientific dossier on the Quy Nhon Port relic - the 300-day site of troop movement to the North to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for ranking as a national relic.
At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Finance to propose to the Provincial People's Committee on funding to conduct surveys and build scientific dossiers of the above-mentioned relics.
After the 1954 Geneva Agreement, Binh Dinh was chosen as the area to concentrate armed forces and political forces of the entire Inter-Zone V to move troops to the North, and Quy Nhon Port was the longest troop transfer point in the South (300 days). The Quy Nhon Port relic - the 300-day troop transfer point to the North was ranked as a provincial relic in 2007.
It is known that previously, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh had submitted a document to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration, approving the policy of coordinating with localities, relevant units and individuals to build a scientific dossier on the Quy Nhon Port relic - The 300-day point of troop movement to the North, and submitting it to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for ranking as a national relic.
According to Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the time for surveying and building scientific documents is expected to start from April to May this year, with a budget of more than 270 million VND.
The request for approval to build a dossier aims to protect and promote the value of relics; educate history and patriotic traditions for today's and tomorrow's young generations, serving the country's political tasks in the period of innovation and international integration associated with tourism development.
At the same time, we will move towards organizing activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the regrouping of cadres, soldiers and people to the North in Quy Nhon (May 15, 1955 - May 15, 2025) to make it more meaningful.
