On August 14, Ms. Tang Hoang Ton Tham, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Da Nang City, said that the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Da Nang City, term 2024-2029, will take place in 2 days (August 20-21).

The Congress will carry out many important contents, including: Report on the assessment of the 2019-2024 term, proposing a program for coordinated and unified action for the new term 2024-2029; reviewing the activities of the Standing Committee and the City Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029; recommending and proposing amendments and supplements to the Charter of the 9th Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City has performed the role of advising the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee to direct the implementation of the task of social supervision and criticism; organized 20 supervision sessions on 11 topics, thereby sending 89 recommendations to the supervised units and relevant agencies for resolution. In the 2024-2029 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City sets out the goal of promoting the core role and strength of national solidarity, strengthening social consensus to contribute to building Da Nang into a smart, creative, unique and sustainable city.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City determined to focus on implementing 3 breakthroughs during the term.

Firstly, promote democracy, contribute ideas to Party and government building, improve the quality of supervision and social criticism.

Second, actively promote and mobilize resources to contribute to the effective implementation of the city program "5 no's", "3 yes's" and the city program "4 safe", the program "no temporary houses, dilapidated houses"; support the construction of houses for poor households, households with special difficulties, support the creation of livelihoods to help escape poverty sustainably.

Third, build a residential area of ​​solidarity, consensus; security, safety; prosperity and happiness.

Ms. Tang Hoang Ton Tham said that over the past 5 years, the City-wide Fund for the Poor has mobilized 153 billion VND. The Fatherland Front at all levels has supported the construction of 537 new Great Solidarity houses (over 25 billion VND); repaired 1,439 houses (over 22 billion VND); supported production for 1,129 cases (nearly 6.5 billion VND); supported more than 13,200 poor students (over 12 billion VND)...
