Navy Region 3 participates in forest fire fighting

The forest fire broke out at around 3:00 p.m. on August 9, in the Nui Bang area, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province, located within the Quang Trach thermal power plant belt. A forest fire broke out in eucalyptus, acacia and pine forests.

Immediately after receiving the news, Radar Station 535, Regiment 351, Naval Region 3 mobilized 12 officers and employees along with 2 blowers and other vehicles to the scene to coordinate with Border Guard, Police and people to put out the fire.

After more than 1 hour of maneuvering and clearing a path through the mountain, officers and staff of Radar Station 535 and other forces approached the scene of the fire and used blowers and cutters to clear a firebreak, containing the fire from spreading to other areas.

Present at the scene, Major Nguyen Dinh Chien, Head of Radar Station 535, said: The weather was hot, windy, the vegetation was dry and thick, and the mountains were high, making firefighting very difficult. However, with a high determination to overcome all difficulties and save people's property, we and other forces continued to control the fire and minimize damage.
