The only representative of the dairy industry, 12 years of "unshakable" position

Based on the audited financial results report for 2023, the Top 50 Best Listed Companies in 2024 announced by Forbes Vietnam is a list of businesses considered "locomotives of the economy and typical representatives of the industry in which they operate". According to this year's results, Vinamilk continues to be in the top 5, and is the only FMCG enterprise. The remaining representatives come from the fields of industry, oil and gas, iron and steel, and finance.

After 12 years of publication, this list has recorded many changes, reflecting the fluctuations through many stages of the economy and market with both objective and subjective factors. This year's list alone has 18 changes in the 50 honored names. For example, the "absence" of some names in the consumer and retail sectors in the context of the market's purchasing power still being quite quiet and at the same time, new names have appeared.

In the annual list of Forbes Vietnam, Vinamilk can be said to be a special case. This "giant" is not only the sole representative of the dairy industry in the top 10, but also the only fast-moving consumer goods company to be present for 12 years, since this ranking was first published. During this period, Vinamilk's total revenue recorded a doubling, from VND 27,102 billion in 2012 to VND 60,479 billion in 2023.

Attracting investment through quality and sustainability

Since its official listing in 2006, Vinamilk (VNM) has remained one of the largest stocks in the VN30 basket and has been in the top 20 VNSI “green” stocks for many years in terms of sustainability based on ESG criteria.

In the first 6 months of 2024, Vinamilk's revenue growth reached impressive numbers, in which the export segment in the second quarter of 2024 was a bright spot with an increase of 37% over the same period, maintaining the growth chain from 2023 to present. Vinamilk has currently exported to over 60 countries and territories, including "difficult" markets such as the US, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, etc.

In the domestic market, continuous investment in product quality helps Vinamilk maintain its leading position, with 12 consecutive years as the most chosen milk brand in Vietnam and in the top 3 FMCG manufacturers chosen by Vietnamese consumers.

These positive results are believed to come from continuous improvement, product quality enhancement, market expansion as well as cost efficiency and operational efficiency optimization. In particular, the company's comprehensive innovation strategy from mid-2023 is also creating strong momentum for the current growth momentum.

In addition to business efficiency, Vinamilk also “scores points” with investors thanks to its brand value, product quality and sustainable development orientation. It can be said that Vinamilk is still a pride of Vietnam’s national brand, owning a brand worth up to 3 billion USD and being in the top 10 of the global dairy industry.
