The Head of the Vietnamese Working Group is Ambassador, Deputy Head of the National Border Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Trinh Duc Hai. The Head of the Chinese Working Group is Representative for Border and Sea Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ho Vi. Representatives of relevant ministries and sectors of the two countries also attended the Meeting.
In a friendly and cooperative atmosphere, on the basis of complying with the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders and the "Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of Vietnam-China maritime issues", the two sides conducted an in-depth exchange of opinions on promoting cooperation in less sensitive areas at sea between Vietnam and China, reviewed the implementation situation, and proposed implementation plans for the Agreements and Projects signed by the two sides.
In the spirit of mutual respect, mutual benefit, and in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the two sides discussed a number of cooperation ideas and agreed to continue actively researching and proposing new areas of cooperation in accordance with the needs, interests, and capabilities of each side.
