On August 1, regarding irregularities in exam scores in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year in Thai Binh province, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province decided to temporarily suspend Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh province, from work for 15 days.
Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien was suspended from work to serve the inspection of the organization of the entrance exam for grade 10 of the 2024-2025 school year in this province. During the inspection, Mr. Hien is responsible for providing full information and relevant documents as requested by the Head of the Inspection Team and competent authorities, ensuring compliance with the provisions of law.

Previously, according to information from parents, many candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam in Thai Binh had their initial announced scores for Literature and Math only 2-4 points, but after the review, in some cases, their scores increased by nearly 6 points.
Along with that, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province also issued a decision on assigning the responsibility of managing the activities of the Department of Education and Training to Mr. Pham Van Nghiem, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province during the time Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien was temporarily suspended from work.

At the same time, the Inspectorate of Thai Binh province has established an inspection team to clarify the case of parents reporting irregularities in the 10th grade entrance exam scores for the 2024-2025 school year in this province. The inspection period lasts 20 days. The inspection team consists of 11 people led by Mr. Pham Cong Dich, Deputy Chief Inspector of Thai Binh province, and has the participation of Thai Binh Provincial Police.
