Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that the BRICS group of emerging economies is an opportunity and a real alternative to the European Union (EU) for Belgrade.

According to Aleksandar Vulin, BRICS does not demand anything from Serbia, but can provide more than what the country asks for.
“On the contrary, the EU demands everything from us, but I am no longer sure what they offer us. BRICS is an opportunity and a real alternative for us,” Mr Vulin said.
I am very outspoken in my support for Serbia to thoroughly consider all the possibilities of BRICS and the closest possible cooperation with the member states of this organization."
Russia's rotating BRICS presidency plan this year includes more than 250 events in 11 regions of the country, organized by representatives of federal and regional executive bodies, civil society organizations and the business community.
The XIV BRICS Summit, taking place in Kazan from October 22-24, is a key event.
Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister announced that the country's authorities are waiting for an official invitation to attend the XIV BRICS Summit in Kazan in the coming days.
