This is the second time VCCA has organized an exhibition with the desire to support and promote the development of modern Vietnamese sculpture, constantly connecting and bringing works of art closer to the public.

The Hanoi - Saigon Sculpture Exhibition 2024 brings together nearly 100 works from 37 sculptors nationwide.

The exhibition is on display at VCCA space from August 3 to September 3.
The Hanoi - Saigon Sculpture Exhibition 2024 brings together a massive volume of nearly 100 works by 37 sculptors of many generations, from many regions across the country, including familiar faces and the appearance of new names. The highlight this year is the dialogue between old and new in an effort to determine the position of modern sculpture in the general process of Vietnamese sculpture.

Artist Dao Chau Hai, artist Pham Dinh Tien, artist Thai Nhat Minh, artist Khong Do Tuyen (from left to right) spoke at the opening ceremony of the Hanoi - Saigon 2024 sculpture exhibition.

Inheriting the heritage of visual language as well as unique indigenous cultures, modern sculptors continue and expand their creative tendencies with the resources of the new era. The works include unique materials such as synthetic materials, metals, stones, fibers, expanding foam, everyday objects... with rich inspiration from themes such as love or nature, to current, personalized thoughts and contemplations. Through that, the exhibition also partly reflects the diverse and multi-dimensional developments of Vietnamese sculpture today.

The Hanoi - Saigon Sculpture Exhibition is a program held every two years, alternating between the North and South since 2010, aiming to connect and share the artistic life in the two regions of the country as well as stimulate creative efforts and expand the voice of sculpture.
With the desire to actively contribute to this process, VCCA introduces the exhibition to the art-loving community for the second time, continuing to affirm its efforts to accompany the Hanoi - Saigon Sculpture Group in the development and construction of a new look for modern Vietnamese sculpture.
