- On the evening of April 14, in Van Lang district, there were 2 forest fires in Na Sam town and Bac Hung commune.

Specifically, the forest fire in Zone 3, Na Sam town was discovered by local people at around 5pm; the forest fire in Thanh Hao village, Bac Hung commune was discovered by local people at 6pm. Due to dry weather and low humidity, the fire flared up fiercely in a short time.

After receiving the report from the people, the authorities of the commune and town where the forest fire occurred mobilized cadres, functional forces including police, militia, youth, forest rangers... and people to quickly arrive at the scene and approach, deploy fire extinguishing methods, and make efforts to build firebreaks to prevent the forest fire from spreading.

By around 7pm, the fire in Na Sam town and around 8pm, the fire in Bac Hung commune were controlled and completely extinguished. Initial estimates show that the burned forest area was about ^300m2 (in Na Sam town) and over 1ha (in Bac Hung commune). Fortunately, the two fires were discovered and extinguished in time, so they did not cause any loss of life or major damage to property.

The cause of the forest fire is being investigated and clarified by authorities.
