"For the benefit of ten years, we must plant trees. For the benefit of a hundred years, we must cultivate people" - President Ho Chi Minh's advice still holds true today in the middle of the distant ocean. There are teachers who remember his teachings and volunteer to go to the sea and islands of the Fatherland to sow knowledge and nurture the future generations of the country. Wherever there is Vietnamese sovereignty, the cause of nurturing future generations continues and develops.
Located about 28km from the mainland, with difficult travel conditions and limited salary, but with passion for the profession, love for children, and difficulties in daily life, more than 20 teachers of Tien Hai Primary and Secondary School still overcome everything, feeling very happy to bring letters and knowledge to the border island commune of Tien Hai, Ha Tien city (Kien Giang province) to together sow letters for children at the forefront of the wind and waves.

There are very few students here, but after each lesson, students are given basic knowledge according to their age. The photo series was submitted by the author to
the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam", organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Tien Hai Primary and Secondary School has 258 students, of which 134 are primary school students and 2 kindergarten classes with 59 students. In addition to the main campus on Hon Tre Island, the school also has 2 satellite campuses on the islands of Hon Duoc and Hon Giang. Thanks to the attention of the education sector and local authorities, the school's infrastructure and teaching equipment are fully guaranteed. All students go to school wearing uniforms according to school regulations and attend 2 sessions a day in class.

For students living on the island, every school day is a happy day, they get to meet friends, teachers and have interesting lessons in class. Interspersed between lessons are outdoor performances.

In addition to the subjects in the main class hours, the rest of the day is when students study additional subjects such as Art, Music, Physical Education or take extra lessons.

Although the number of students in each class is not too large, the quality of teaching and learning of teachers and students is still guaranteed according to standards. In recent years, Tien Hai Primary and Secondary School has invested in building a new 2-storey building with full facilities from blackboards, fans, lights to student desks and chairs.

Because the island commune does not have a kindergarten specifically for school-age children, the school's Board of Directors proposed to the industry and local leaders to open a kindergarten with 2 classes and about 60 students. The children are divided into two main age groups: 3 to 4 years old/class and 5 years old/class. With their love for children, all teachers who go to kindergarten every day patiently guide the children to be bold in communication.

To help children feel less bored during class, teachers also have clips instructing them to practice group dances or accompany songs when they need to perform. In addition to the teaching and learning program, extracurricular activities also play a very important role. This activity contributes to improving the quality of comprehensive education, physical training, expanding and enhancing children's knowledge... and especially it is an indispensable activity in the process of shaping students' personalities.
