TPO - Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Giang - former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province and the leaders of this department publicly apologized to the former principal of Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School (Rach Gia City) for providing information to the press before the conclusion of violations was made.
On August 8, the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province publicly apologized to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chung - former Principal of Vo Van Kiet Secondary and High School. The move took place after the People's Court of District 12 (HCMC) issued a decision to recognize the agreement between the parties: Mr. Chung, the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province and Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Giang - former Director of this department.
Accordingly, Ms. Pham Xuan Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province publicly apologized to Mr. Chung because Ms. Giang provided information to the press before the competent authority concluded the violations related to Mr. Chung. In addition, Ms. Giang also had to compensate Mr. Chung with the amount of 1 million VND.

Previously, in April 2018, the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee disciplined Ms. Giang with a reprimand. According to the conclusion of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Ms. Giang is the head of the education sector, partly responsible for the violations of a number of high schools in the area; directing the admission of 6 cases below the standard score to Vo Van Kiet High School.
In addition, Ms. Giang accepted Ms. Pham Kim Thoa - a contract employee of Kien Giang Agricultural Products Trading Joint Stock Company to work at Vo Van Kiet High School without going through an exam or selection process.
According to the above conclusion, Ms. Giang was not resolute in handling the officials who committed violations when Mr. Chung filed a complaint and reflection, did not direct the investigation, verification, and conclusion to handle according to regulations; hastily provided information to the press about Mr. Chung's shortcomings and violations without verification and conclusion. This caused bad public opinion, affecting Mr. Chung's reputation and honor and the reputation of the provincial education sector.
