The application of 360 AR/VR technology and Metaverse space (digital space) to create a solution to support the digital tourism industry by a group of lecturers and students from Thuyloi University won 3rd prize in the "Students with Startup Ideas VI" contest organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
"Digital travel platform - Digitravel" not only connects travel agencies, ticket offices, hotels, restaurants, cultural sites, historical relics... but also connects many domestic and foreign tourists to experience tourist destinations.
The topic was born from the fact that children in remote areas, or the elderly in nursing homes are still in need and do not have the conditions to travel. At the same time, the members also hope that their application will serve a variety of subjects, in order to provide a "vehicle", a perfect digital tourism network for the community.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Oanh, President of TSC Startup Club, Lecturer of Economics and Digital Business (Water Resources University)
Dr. Nguyen Thi Oanh, President of TSC Startup Club, Lecturer of Economics and Digital Business (Water Resources University), is the group instructor, said that the group on the topic "Digital tourism platform - Digitravel" has 5 students and 1 lecturer participating. The topic is being implemented according to the short-term goal of reaching more than 300,000 users in the first 9 months; completing the app and website. The medium-term goal in the next 3 years is to reach over 15 million users and continue to add new features and technologies to the platform to meet the actual needs of customers. They are tourists who want to learn and choose a destination before experiencing it in reality. Those who love to learn, explore and expand their worldview but have not had the opportunity to come directly.
"Hoi An is the first pilot place that the application has chosen to develop in the platform's digital tourism journey. Currently, the project has built the website digitravel.vn and the App DigiTravel HoiAn on the Android operating system application. The group has connected restaurant services, hotels, travel agencies, ticket offices, traditional product production facilities, etc. with the Department of Culture and Tourism in the localities. The group is also focusing on cooperation and development with digitalization units to connect to famous heritages of Vietnam" - Dr. Nguyen Thi Oanh said.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Oanh, the topic has many advantages because it uses new technologies, suitable for the trends and needs of customers and the market. The harmonious combination of technological advantages and traditional values is also the strength of the topic.
It is expected that the topic can cover the market in 63 provinces and cities within 2 years, promote the image of tourist destinations, use technology to awaken Vietnamese heritage and create opportunities for the elderly, the disabled, people with limited abilities or difficulties in traveling to participate in the experience.
"However, we also face difficulties in that technology changes every day, requiring innovation and rapid updates to products. Along with that are barriers to entering the industry such as investment capital, procedures related to business law; potential domestic and foreign competitors", Dr. Nguyen Thi Oanh shared.
"Digital travel platform - Digitravel" does not stop at competitions but has been and is being implemented in practice. The members of the project hope to receive support from the state, connect with individuals, organizations, travel companies, tour operators, ticket offices, cultural and tourist sites... at home and abroad to create a digital tourism ecosystem" - a member of the information group.
In addition, the group also wants to allocate a portion of the project's profits for social activities. Join hands to reduce social barriers, injustice, inequality and contribute to improving the quality of life, ensuring social security, promoting stable and sustainable development.
