Recently, Trung Nguyen Legend Group of Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu held a groundbreaking ceremony for the largest energy coffee factory in Southeast Asia at Tan An 2 Industrial Park, Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak. This is one of the important highlights of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, taking place from March 9-13, attracting great attention from experts and investors.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025 - emphasized that the construction of the factory will not only promote the development of the coffee processing industry but also help complete the diverse coffee ecosystem of the locality. Mr. Ha also affirmed that the project will open up many new opportunities, create more jobs, increase income for local people and contribute significantly to the economic development of Dak Lak province.

The factory has a total investment of more than 2,000 billion VND, implemented in 2 phases, of which phase 1 has a scale of nearly 1,000 billion VND. In particular, the factory is equipped with modern technology from Germany, Italy and the world's leading technology brands, ensuring advanced and high-quality production processes.

With a total area of ​​50,000m², the project has a maximum construction density of 60%, while the green and water surface area accounts for over 20%, aiming for a sustainable ecological factory model that meets Net Zero standards. The factory is designed to participate in the deep processing and refining chain, creating high-value raw materials from coffee, contributing to many other industries.

This is the 5th factory in Trung Nguyen Legend's production system in Vietnam and the 2nd factory located in Buon Ma Thuot. With its large scale and modern technology, this factory not only contributes to enhancing the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry in the international market but also helps Dak Lak consolidate its position as the leading coffee center in the region.

How is the corporation of "coffee king" Dang Le Nguyen Vu doing?

Trung Nguyen Group was established in 1996, starting from a small business. In March 2006, the company officially registered its business, operating as a joint stock company and expanding into many fields such as production, processing, trading, franchising, real estate and tourism.

According to the National Business Registration Portal, in 2014, Trung Nguyen Group had a charter capital of VND1,500 billion. The shareholder structure included 4 individuals and 1 enterprise. Of which, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu contributed VND255 billion, Ms. Dang Mo contributed VND50 billion, Mr. Dang Vu Nhat Quang contributed VND10 billion, Trung Nguyen Coffee Joint Stock Company (represented by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu) contributed VND45 billion, and Ms. Le Hoang Diep Thao contributed VND140 billion.

Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and legal representative of the company. After 27 times of business registration adjustment, the group's charter capital has now increased to 3,000 billion VND. In addition to Trung Nguyen, Mr. Vu is also the legal representative of 17 other companies and branches.

As of the end of February 2025, the Trung Nguyen Legend system owns 660 stores in the country. In particular, since September 2022, the group has stepped up its expansion into the international market, with the first store in Shanghai, China. In addition, last February, Trung Nguyen Legend officially opened another Trung Nguyen E-Coffee franchise store at 5710 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, California, USA. This is the 5th Trung Nguyen Legend store in the US, following the brand's presence of 22 spaces in China.

Trung Nguyen Coffee Factory in Buon Ma Thuot is Trung Nguyen's main roasted coffee processing facility. The factory has a capacity of 60,000 tons of products/year, invested 40 million USD and equipped with a closed production line, including instant coffee processing.

Trung Nguyen Instant Coffee Factory in Di An, Binh Duong, has an area of ​​3 hectares, using the entire equipment and technology line manufactured and transferred by FEA srl (Italy), ensuring the quality of instant coffee processing meets international standards.

Trung Nguyen - Saigon Factory: This is one of four coffee processing factories of Trung Nguyen, contributing significantly to the production and supply of coffee products for domestic and international markets.

In addition to the coffee business, Trung Nguyen has also expanded into real estate with many outstanding projects. In particular, Coffee City is a model urban area, combining living, working and entertainment spaces according to the coffee philosophy. The Trung Nguyen Legend - Loc An coffee product exhibition and display area plays a role as a center to introduce products and brand values. In addition, Trung Nguyen also invests in ecological and tourism projects such as the Livestock Farm combined with eco-tourism in Krong A commune, M'Drak district, along with famous tourist areas such as Dray Sap Thuong waterfall and Dray Nur waterfall (Krong Ana).

Enhancing the value of Vietnamese coffee beans

Buon Ma Thuot has long been considered the "homeland of the world's best Robusta coffee beans". With the desire to raise the position of Vietnamese coffee on the global map, many generations of Dak Lak provincial leaders, along with central and local ministries, departments and agencies, have made constant efforts to bring the Vietnamese coffee brand far and wide.

2024 marks an important milestone when for the first time Vietnam's coffee export turnover exceeds the 5 billion USD mark, putting coffee in the top 10 largest export items in the country.

In particular, Buon Ma Thuot Robusta coffee is creating a boom in the global market and is increasingly popular in coffee consuming powers such as Germany, Italy, China, the US, Japan, Spain and Indonesia. This demonstrates the superior quality and solid position of Vietnamese coffee on the world map.

However, the Vietnamese coffee industry still faces many major challenges, including low deep processing rates, undiversified products, fierce competition and increasingly stringent international standards. Currently, of the total coffee output harvested in Dak Lak of about 530,000 tons/crop year from more than 200,000 hectares of cultivated area, only about 20% is deeply processed. This is a huge potential that Dak Lak provincial leaders are particularly interested in, encouraging businesses to invest in processing technology to increase the added value of products, while meeting the increasing demand for processed coffee consumption globally.
