Regular university admissions have ensured the autonomy of training institutions. Accordingly, schools develop admission plans with specific regulations on admission methods and conditions.

However, processing general wishes on the admission system has reduced the number of virtual candidates, helping schools shorten the admission time, and also creating conditions for candidates to have the opportunity to be admitted according to their favorite and most desired wishes among the eligible wishes.

There are still places that do not ensure fairness and reasonableness.

But according to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, there are still issues to be noted in 2024 enrollment. The school also has too many complicated admission options.

Some places have not ensured fairness, and the allocation of quotas is not reasonable, causing difficulties for candidates and the system. Many schools that consider early admission cannot predict the number of virtual candidates.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam in 2024 is 1,071,395, of which more than 733,000 candidates registered for admission to universities and colleges in preschool education, accounting for about 68.48% of the candidates taking the exam. According to Ms. Thuy, this is a good increase, promising a quality admission season.

At present, candidates have completed the registration fee payment stage, waiting for the results of virtual sorting/filtering of wishes to continue to confirm online admission to eligible wishes.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy said that the scale of regular university training tends to increase slightly compared to 2023.

This includes a significant increase in the fields of mathematics and statistics, computers and information technology, engineering technology, engineering, manufacturing and processing, architecture and construction, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and veterinary medicine (this sector increased by 62,060 students, a rate of 10.59% compared to 2023).

This shows that training institutions have paid attention to the trend of sustainable development, developing technical and technological industries to meet the development needs of the country.

Master's training scale increases sharply in teacher training sector

Data from the Ministry of Education and Training shows that the scale of master's training tends to increase steadily again in all sectors compared to 2023.

In particular, the strongest increase must be mentioned in the teacher training sector (an increase of 3,353 students, equivalent to an increase of 34.79% compared to 2023), and the business and management and law sectors (an increase of 3,205 students with an increase of 10.48% compared to 2023).

The art sector also changed due to the attention of the governing ministry. The scale of master's training increased by 39.12%, but the number of increased students was only 178.

The scale of doctoral training also began to increase sharply in all fields compared to 2023, in which the strongest increase was in the fields of mathematics and statistics, computers and information technology, engineering technology, engineering, production and processing, architecture and construction, ... an increase of 637 doctoral students with an increase rate of 33.32% compared to 2023, the field of life sciences and natural sciences increased by 390 doctoral students with an increase rate of 57.52%, the field of teacher training increased by 350 doctoral students with an increase rate of 51.32%...

Regarding the implementation of enrollment targets for training levels and forms, in the 2023-2024 school year: 7,158 targets were assigned for doctoral training, 3,376 targets were enrolled (47.16%); 71,356 targets were assigned for master's level, 40,596 targets were implemented (56.89%).

Regular university level was assigned 617,859 targets, of which 512,223 were achieved (82.90%).

According to Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, the application of information technology in recent times is one of the most obvious advantages in enrollment work.
