However, according to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, the 2024 admissions process still has some issues to consider. The university has too many complicated admission methods.

In some places, fairness is not ensured, quotas are not allocated rationally, causing difficulties for candidates and the system. Many schools conducting early admissions fail to anticipate the number of fictitious candidates.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the number of candidates taking the 2024 high school graduation exam is 1,071,395, of which more than 733,000 candidates registered for admission to universities and colleges in the early childhood education field, accounting for approximately 68.48% of the total number of candidates. According to Ms. Thuy, this is a positive increase, promising a high-quality admissions season.

Currently, candidates have completed the registration fee payment phase and are waiting for the results of the ranking/filtering of their preferences to continue confirming their online enrollment for eligible choices.

At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy stated that the scale of full-time university training tends to increase slightly compared to 2023.

Notably, there was a significant increase in the fields of mathematics and statistics, computer science and information technology, engineering technology, engineering, manufacturing and processing, architecture and construction, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and veterinary medicine (this sector saw an increase of 62,060 students, representing a 10.59% increase compared to 2023).

This shows that training institutions have paid attention to sustainable development trends and the development of engineering and technology fields to meet the development needs of the country.

The scale of master's degree training has increased significantly in teacher training programs.

Data from the Ministry of Education and Training shows that the scale of master's degree training is trending upwards again across all disciplines compared to 2023.

Notably, the strongest increases were seen in teacher training programs (an increase of 3,353 students, a 34.79% increase compared to 2023), and business, management, and law programs (an increase of 3,205 students, a 10.48% increase compared to 2023).

The arts sector also saw a transformation due to the attention of the governing ministry; the scale of master's degree training increased by 39.12%, but the number of postgraduate students only increased by 178.

The scale of doctoral training also began to increase sharply in all fields compared to 2023, with the strongest increases seen in mathematics and statistics, computer science and information technology, engineering technology, engineering, manufacturing and processing, architecture and construction, etc., with an increase of 637 doctoral students, a 33.32% increase compared to 2023; life sciences and natural sciences increased by 390 doctoral students, a 57.52% increase; and teacher training increased by 350 doctoral students, a 51.32% increase.

Regarding the implementation of enrollment targets for various levels and forms of training in the 2023-2024 academic year: the doctoral training program was allocated 7,158 targets, with 3,376 students enrolled (achieving 47.16%); the master's training program was allocated 71,356 targets, with 40,596 students enrolled (achieving 56.89%).

The regular university program was allocated 617,859 enrollment quotas, with 512,223 completed (reaching 82.90%).

According to Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, the application of information technology in recent times is one of the most evident advantages in the admissions process.
