Musician Giang Son's live concert Sol's Dream will take place on February 15, 2025, marking the female musician's 40 years of musical activity.
Giang Son said that Sol Dream was inspired by the title Midday Dream - a song she composed 20 years ago, and is also a "variation" of the name itself, which means the Sol note in music.
"An outdoor music night in a large space of about 2,000 people - is truly a dream that I have longed for and pondered over for many years," Giang Son shared.
That dream was probably ignited when Giang Son was just a 10-year-old girl, composing her first song for her father. In 2010, when Vietnam Television produced the live show Con duong am nhac, recreating Giang Son's portrait through music, that dream was fueled even more.
In Sol Dream , Giang Son's 40-year musical journey will be recreated through her compositions. There are works that she wrote in her early twenties, when she first started her career as a composer, and songs that were released when Giang Son was an adult, such as Midday Dream, Grass and Rain, Autumn Can , etc. In addition, the female musician will also introduce some new songs that have never been released, including two performed by Thanh Lam and Thuy Chi.
Sol Dream brings together the voices of: People's Artist Thanh Lam, Tung Duong, Ha Tran, Khanh Linh, Ha Linh, Hoang Dung, Thuy Chi. Musician Luu Ha An is the music director, Xuan Truong is the stage director.
Musician Giang Son said that all the singers participating in the program do not take a salary, but she does not let that happen because she is "embarrassed".
"They sang my songs, helping the work spread to the public, making me famous. They didn't take any salary when participating in the program, which made me even more emotional and embarrassed," musician Giang Son expressed.
At the press conference, singer Tung Duong humorously shared that the artists did not take the salary because in addition to their love for Giang Son, they also had another "plot": hoping that she would save enough money to get married.
"Women with a man by their side are more balanced and youthful, even though Giang Son is still beautiful now."
Tung Duong said he considers Giang Son as a family member, a real sister, but there were times when he almost turned his back on her. Giang Son was always the one who gave Tung Duong frank advice every time he heard him sing. "Giang Son is a careful and picky person when it comes to music. She never scolds me, but her advice is worse than scolding. That's why I urged her to get married to be less picky," Tung Duong shared.
