Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc spoke at the opening ceremony this morning.

Today (October 12), Ho Chi Minh City University of Law held the opening ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year. This school year, the school welcomed 2,500 new students of the 49th course, including 31 international students.

Building a key school for training legal staff

Speaking at the opening ceremony, sharing about the school's strategic development plan until 2030 and vision to 2045, Dr. Le Truong Son, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said that the school is oriented to become a multidisciplinary and multi-field university. In particular, the focus is on building it into a key school for training legal staff according to Decision 1156/QD-TTg dated September 30, 2022 of the Prime Minister.

According to Dr. Le Truong Son, in the 2024-2025 school year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law will focus on continuing to improve the development strategy indicators, perfect the organizational structure, improve governance capacity, and promote university autonomy. At the same time, it will strengthen training and development of the teaching staff; focus on fostering and improving core competencies for lecturers.

Directly related to learners, the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law said that the school focuses on innovating and modernizing training programs and methods, better meeting the demand for high-quality human resources of the labor market and the diverse learning needs of learners in the new context...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc suggested that the school should continue to consolidate and improve its organizational structure and develop a team of lecturers to ensure quality and meet new requirements.

"Experience shows that the operational efficiency of training institutions depends largely on the organizational structure, staff qualifications and operating model, especially the financial model, organization and internal governance mechanism," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc. Notably, the Deputy Minister noted that it is necessary to continue improving the quality of training in conjunction with expanding the scale and training sectors to meet the needs of society, in line with the capacity of the school, following the integration trend.

Dr. Le Truong Son, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said the school's development orientation is to become a multidisciplinary, multi-field university.

"Innovation and creativity are the key to development"

To the new students, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc also shared some important things. The Deputy Minister said: "Continuously cultivate morality, build a healthy lifestyle and maintain patriotism; be responsible to the community and nurture the desire to contribute through practical actions. The difficulties ahead will be challenges for you to mature and assert yourself."

In addition, the Deputy Minister of Education and Training also said that students need to actively study, improve their knowledge, working skills and foreign languages. Always be ready to receive and master scientific and technological advances in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution. The Deputy Minister emphasized: "Innovation and creativity are the keys to help students develop."

Finally, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc hopes that students of a law school should proactively integrate internationally, compete fairly with friends from all over the world and improve their ability to adapt to rapid changes in the world.

"Critical thinking, self-study habits and seeking new knowledge will help students become flexible and confident in facing all challenges," the Deputy Minister of Education and Training added.
