On August 14, Truong Sa Medical Center (Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province) announced that it had just received and treated a fisherman from Binh Dinh province with gastroenteritis and high blood pressure.

Previously, at around 8:00 a.m. the same day, while fishing in the sea about 12 nautical miles from Truong Sa island, Mr. Vo Van Hiep (54 years old, residing in Binh Dinh province, fisherman on fishing boat BD98573 TS) had pain in the epigastric region.

Because Mr. Hiep's abdominal pain was getting worse, the fishing boat took him to Truong Sa Medical Center for emergency treatment.

Military doctors at Truong Sa Island Medical Center diagnosed the patient with gastroenteritis and high blood pressure and ordered a blood count, blood chemistry, X-ray, and emergency abdominal ultrasound.

Currently, the patient is being monitored by doctors at Truong Sa Medical Center for gastrointestinal infection, risk of acute pancreatitis, and progressive infection.

The patient is receiving active medical treatment, antibiotics, secretion reduction, intravenous nutrition, and abdominal monitoring.
