Taking place from August 9 to 13 in Hanoi, the 2024 National Circus Talent Competition attracted nearly 100 artists and actors from 4 units: Phuong Nam Art Theater, Vietnam Circus and Variety Arts College, Hanoi Circus and Variety Arts Theater, and Vietnam Circus Federation. The artists presented the audience with 20 outstanding circus performances.

Evaluating the competition, People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, Chairman of the Jury, commented that compared to the previous competition, the quality of this competition has been significantly improved. The performances were exciting and attractive, reflecting the artists' efforts to improve. The jury was quite surprised because many new young artists appeared with creativity in performance, showing much potential.

Notably, the competition brought together many diverse and rich genres of performances such as: Drumming "Echo of the Mountainous Region", Swinging with a net and kicking people, teaching animals "Persian Market" by the Vietnam Circus and Variety School; Pole on a swing, Double adventure carousel, "Funny foster brothers" by the Vietnam Circus Federation.

The silk rope performance “Thi Kinh’s Injustice” (Vietnam Circus and Variety School), double leather rope, high-altitude hula hoop of Hanoi Circus and Variety Theater, group juggling, and 4-man image of Phuong Nam Art Theater have many creative performances in staging.

However, People's Artist Tong Toan Thang also said that there are still some performances that lack new creative exploration and low technique, so they cannot fully demonstrate their abilities...

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 3 First Prizes to the following performances: Drum performance “Echo of the Mountainous Region” by the Vietnam Circus and Variety Arts College; double-circle performance “Space Dance” by the Contemporary Circus Troupe - Vietnam Circus Federation; carpet spinning and hand-standing performance by artist Nguyen Hong Truc Vi of the Phuong Nam Arts Theater.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 5 Second Prizes for the performances and 2 Excellent Prizes, including Excellent Director to Meritorious Artist Ngo Le Thang (Vietnam Circus and Variety Arts College) and Excellent Training to artist Tran Duc Vinh (Contemporary Circus Troupe - Vietnam Circus Federation).
