As the school with the largest number of additional enrollment quotas (300 quotas), Phong Phu High School (Binh Chanh district) received 78 qualified applications.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam, Principal of Phong Phu High School, said that all the students who were eligible to apply were admitted. Regarding the scores, most of the candidates from outside the district scored above 14 points, while those from within the district scored 13.5 points.
"The number of additional students recruited this year is basically the same as in 2023. This number is within the school's control. In terms of facilities, the teaching staff is sufficient to meet the learning needs of students this year," Ms. Tam shared.
Notably, Le Thi Hong Gam High School "harvested" more than 100 applications while the quota was 38. The school representative said that the school recruited all 38 candidates, with an admission score of 15.75. Thus, the additional standard score increased by 0.75 points compared to the standard score for the third choice in the first admission round.
At Linh Trung High School (Thu Duc City), the assigned quota was 20, of which only 1 application met the requirements. The school's leaders said that this candidate scored 15 points and was eligible for admission with the same score as the first choice.
Meanwhile, An Nhon Tay High School received 107 candidates out of a total of 140 quotas.
Can Thanh High School received 3 applications for additional admission, while lacking 89 students. The reason is that the school is 60km from the city center, so it is difficult to accept candidates from outside the area. Meanwhile, local students who passed the first round have already enrolled, while the remaining few do not have enough points.

Nguyen Thuong Hien High School (Tan Binh District) was "empty-handed" for the second time in the supplementary admission exam. The reason is that for many years, the school had the highest standard score in the city, but the candidates did not reach the score required to submit their application.
This year, the first-choice standard score to enter the school is 24.25. The school is still short of 40 places but has not received any applications for admission.
"The school's third choice score is too high (26 points), so it's understandable that we didn't get it," said Mr. Lam Trieu Nghi, Principal of Nguyen Thuong Hien High School.
Similarly, Le Quy Don High School (District 3) also did not receive any applications despite lacking 15 places. According to the school, many students really wanted to enroll in the school but were stuck with the rather high additional consideration conditions.
That is, you must fail the first round and have an exam score that meets the standard for your third choice, which is 23 points or higher. This level is 0.5 and 0.25 points higher than your first and second choices, respectively. Most candidates with this score have been admitted before.
Some high schools were assigned to recruit additional students such as: Nguyen Van Linh (191), An Nhon Tay (140), Nguyen Van Tang (134), Trung Lap (123), Vinh Loc B (115)...
Top high schools recruiting additional students include: Nguyen Thuong Hien (40), Le Quy Don (15), Phu Nhuan (12), Saigon Practice (10),...

Candidates see the list of successful candidates at high schools and submit additional application documents.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City stipulates that the additional recruitment subjects are students who have taken the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year in Ho Chi Minh City. Public high schools that have not recruited enough students compared to the assigned quota will recruit additional students.
The condition for participating in additional admission is that students do not pass any admission wishes to public high schools and must have a total entrance exam score of 3 subjects: math, literature, foreign language plus priority points (if any) greater than or equal to the standard score of the 3rd wish of the public high school they want to register for admission.
For students who have studied at secondary schools in the areas of Can Gio, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Thu Duc city, if they register for schools in the same area as their secondary school, the total entrance exam score of the candidate will be considered according to the standard score of the first choice of the public high school they want to register for admission.
In which, Thu Duc city is divided into 3 regions (KV) in which KV1 includes schools in the old District 2, KV2 includes schools in the old District 9 and KV3 includes schools in the old Thu Duc district.
Each student is only allowed to register for additional enrollment at 1 public high school that has not yet met its assigned enrollment quota (according to the list attached in the appendix) and is not allowed to change schools after submitting the application for additional enrollment.
Ho Chi Minh City considers adding enrollment quota for private 10th graders
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said it will consider adjusting and supplementing the enrollment quota for 10th graders at private schools before August 15.
The addition is based on the needs and conditions of facilities, equipment, personnel, and ensuring sufficient conditions to receive additional students of each school.
