Ho Chi Minh City will soon announce sample questions for 10th grade admission in 2025.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, in August 2024, the Department will issue a document guiding the enrollment of grade 10 students in 2025. Candidates for grade 10 will still take 3 subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language. Candidates for specialized classes will take an additional specialized subject, expected to be replaced by an integrated subject test of Natural Sciences, History - Geography according to the 2018 General Education Program.

For general exams, it is expected that in October, the Department will announce sample questions for each subject so that teachers and schools can have guidance in teaching and testing.

The exam questions are designed to assess students' abilities, requiring them to apply acquired knowledge to solve practical problems. The level of differentiation and innovation in each subject will be calculated and adjusted to suit teaching and learning in accordance with the orientation of assessing students' abilities in the 2018 General Education Program.

Mr. Hieu said that the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in the past 10 years has been following this orientation, the level of innovation is different each year. However, starting from 2025, this will be more clearly demonstrated according to the orientation of assessing student capacity of the 2018 general education program.
