9th grade gifted student exam with many new subjects

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that this year's 9th grade gifted student exam will include the following subjects: Literature, history and geography, math, natural science, information technology, English, French, Chinese, Japanese, technology (industrial orientation), technology (agricultural orientation).

In which, natural science has 2 parts: Compulsory part (accounting for 30% of the score): general knowledge; elective part (accounting for 70% of the score): Students can choose 1 of the following 3 content streams:

+ Substance and change of substance; Earth and sky.

+ Energy and transformation; Earth and sky.

+ Living things; Earth and sky.

For history and geography: Students can choose 1 of 2 subjects: History, geography.

For IT: There will be a computer programming test; foreign language subjects will have a listening test. Time for the test: 120 minutes.

Contestants are students studying in grade 9 at secondary schools in the 2024-2025 school year with good or better academic and training results in the first semester, and are members of the excellent student teams of the participating units.

According to the department, the percentage of students winning prizes is not more than 60% of the total number of students taking the exam (in which the number of students winning first prizes is not more than 5% of the total number of students winning prizes). The department only considers first, second, and third prizes with the condition that the students achieve 10 points or more.

New regulations for 12th grade excellent student exams

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training stipulates that the 12th grade excellent student exam will include the following subjects:
Math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, literature, history, geography, economic and legal education, English, French, Japanese, Chinese (foreign languages ​​have a listening test). Test time: 120 minutes.

Students currently in grade 12 in the 2024-2025 school year, with good or better academic and training results in the first semester, will be eligible to take the exam. Students in the city's excellent student team competing in the national excellent student competition will not be eligible to take the exam.

In which, grade 12 students of specialized classes must participate.

The Department only ranks individual prizes (first, second, third) for each subject. Specifically: The percentage of students winning prizes must not exceed 60% of the total number of students taking the exam (in which the number of students winning first prizes must not exceed 5% of the total number of students winning prizes) and the prize ranking condition is from 10 points or more.
