Early in the morning of April 30, the atmosphere in the coastal fishing villages of Quang Xuong was unusually bustling. Rafts full of fish and shrimp lined up to return to shore after overnight fishing trips. The sound of the ship engines and the calls of people on the sand echoed throughout the coastal area.

As soon as they reached the dock, fishermen hurriedly transferred baskets of fresh fish to shore. Their tanned hands quickly arranged the fish into baskets, from mackerel, herring to cuttlefish, squid, all still fresh, shining silver in the early morning sun.

At the wharf, traders were waiting, quickly selecting and weighing goods on the spot, creating a bustling buying and selling scene.

Fishermen here said that the weather in early summer is quite favorable, with light winds and calm seas, ideal conditions for fishing close to shore.

Mr. Uong Ngoc Thieu (village 6, Quang Thai commune) shared: "In recent years, every April 30 - May 1, we fishermen take advantage of going out to sea. This is the season when there are a lot of herring and big squid. During the holiday, consumption is fast and the price of fish is also quite good, so everyone is excited."

Meanwhile, in another corner, women, mostly fishermen's wives and children, are also busy sorting seafood to transport to the district market and restaurants to serve holiday needs.

Sweat soaked their backs, but their faces shone with joy at a successful voyage.

Many fishermen took the opportunity to repair their nets in time for the next trip. “The sea is calm, there are many fish, and the holidays are a time to stay at sea, and no one wants to miss the opportunity to earn extra income,” said fisherman Tran Van Sy, from Quang Thai.

This year, seafood purchase prices at Quang Xuong fishing port are stable, mackerel and herring range from 20,000 - 35,000 VND/kg, squid from 200,000 - 350,000 VND/kg, creating great motivation for fishermen to confidently go offshore.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, owner of a seafood warehouse in Quang Hai commune, said: "During the holidays, the demand for domestic and export seafood increases, so goods sell better. All fishermen hope for a bumper trip to offset costs."

During this holiday, many tourists have returned to Quang Xuong beach. They seem to really enjoy the experience of spending the early morning in the fishing village with the local fishermen.

The scene of fishing boats coming ashore with the fishermen's cheerful laughter created a picture of a labor force full of vitality, expressing the spirit of sticking to the sea and being attached to the traditional profession. The trips to the sea full of fish and shrimp are also the way they celebrate the important day of the country - with hard work and belief in prosperity.
