The announcement stated that, according to current regulations, this Thursday (May 1) is International Labor Day and is also the second holiday of the April 30 and May 1, 2025 holiday. Therefore, the management of gasoline prices following the April 24 management period will be carried out on Monday (May 5 - the first working day of the holiday).

The leader of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development said that according to the provisions of Decree 80/2023/ND/CP, the time for managing gasoline prices is implemented every Thursday. In case the price management time falls on the last day of the Lunar New Year (29th or 30th of the Lunar New Year), the gasoline price management will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday is the first, second or third day of the Lunar New Year, the gasoline price management time will be implemented on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year.

Domestic gasoline prices will be adjusted on Monday (May 5).

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, if the fifth day coincides with the first day of the holiday, the time for the petrol price management will be implemented on the preceding Wednesday. If the fifth day coincides with the remaining holidays, the time for the petrol price management will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.

In case the price of petroleum products fluctuates abnormally, affecting socio-economic development and people's lives, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is responsible for reporting to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on the appropriate time to manage petroleum prices.
