Customs tightens management of N2O gas imports

The Customs Department, Ministry of Finance has just sent a document to the Customs Sub-Departments of the regions regarding strengthening the management of N2O gas imports.

According to the Customs Department, when carrying out customs procedures for imported N2O gas, the Customs Sub-Departments of the regions are required to direct the Customs at the border gate/outside the border gate to comply with the provisions of Decree No. 82/2022 amending and supplementing Decree No. 113/2017 of the Government, Decree No. 15/2018 of the Government, Circular No. 15/2024 of the Ministry of Health and the instructions of the General Department of Customs (now the Customs Department) in Official Dispatch No. 7619, Official Dispatch No. 2392 and Official Dispatch No. 1752. During the implementation process, if any problems arise, promptly report and propose to the Customs Department for timely guidance and direction.

Customs strengthens management of N2O gas (laughing gas) import

N2O gas, commonly known as “laughing gas”, has caused much concern when it is abused for non-industrial or medical purposes. The use of laughing gas containing N2O gas is especially dangerous when combined with other drugs, causing loss of behavioral control, causing disorder and danger to society.
