The contest was organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission in coordination with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The contest is organized in the form of an online quiz on the Reporter General Information Website of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission (at https://baocaovien.vn) and newspapers, magazines, and electronic information pages with links to the Contest and on the Vietnam Youth Mobile Application. The first round of the contest will be held from March 8-29, 2025; the second round will take place from May to August 2025.

In the first phase, the Contest attracted more than 1.5 million registrants, with over 3 million entries, of which more than 1.2 million entries were through the Reporter General Information Website and more than 1.8 million entries were through the Vietnam Youth Application of the Central Youth Union. During this period, Thai Nguyen Provincial Youth Union actively deployed and launched to the provincial Youth Union bases to propagate and mobilize youth union members aged 16 to 35 to participate in the contest on the Vietnam Youth Mobile Application, thereby becoming one of the two Youth Union units in the country with the largest number of contestants participating in the contest.

The contest aims to widely disseminate the significance, stature, and great historical value of the August Revolution and the resistance war against the US to save the country. At the same time, it educates revolutionary traditions, encourages, motivates, and arouses patriotism, national pride, solidarity, self-reliance, and the desire to develop a prosperous and happy country among cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life.
