April 30, 1975 was a brilliant milestone in the history of the nation, the day when millions of Vietnamese hearts burst into joy of reunion. From North to South, the country was united, filled with joy after years of arduous war. That great spring victory was not only a victory of patriotism and indomitable will but also a victory of the aspiration for peace, independence and freedom.

Half a century has passed, but the spirit of spring 1975 remains intact in the memory of every Vietnamese child - the spring of victory, reunion, and tears of happiness after many years of separation.

Speaking at the opening of the Program, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that half a century has passed, but the echoes of the Great Spring Victory will forever be recorded in our nation's history as the most brilliant page, a shining symbol of complete victory in revolutionary heroism and human intelligence, and will go down in world history as a great feat of the 20th century, an event of great international importance and profound contemporary significance.

Culture and art are also one of the important fronts contributing to the resounding success of the triumphant song on April 30, 1975. Culture and art also have the mission of illuminating, guiding, and connecting the past and the future, between suffering and happiness, between dreams and reality.

Following the success of the art programs North-South Appointment, Memory Stays, Country Full of Joy and the live TV program "Song of Triumph" , Minister Nguyen Van Hung said that the art program "Spring of Reunification" is a deep gratitude to the previous generations, soldiers and compatriots who did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

"The message from the Program is a strong belief in the leadership of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam to have a Spring of reunification, the Vietnamese people will unite and together continue to write a new epic of the era of building a strong and developed country," the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized.

With 3 Chapters: Chapter I - The pain of separation and the path to unification; Chapter II - Spring of peace; Chapter III - Spring of a new era, the special art program "Spring of unification" demonstrates the significance, great stature, and great value of the Great Victory of Spring 1975, completely liberating the South and unifying the country in the history of building and defending the country of our people.

With about 1,000 professional and non-professional actors participating in the performance, the program combines traditional and modern art, through the language of music and dance, combined with modern sound and lighting systems to create unique colors, recreating the heroic, persistent, resilient struggle of the entire nation to liberate the South and unify the country; at the same time, depicting the great achievements of the country after 50 years of unification and nearly 40 years of carrying out the renovation process under the leadership of our Party.

Thereby, strongly spreading to all classes of people the love for the homeland, the country, national pride and revolutionary tradition under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; continuing the spirit of the day of total victory to build Vietnam to be more and more dignified and beautiful as wished by beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
