"I hope to continue constructive dialogue and joint coordination on urgent issues on the bilateral and international agenda. This will certainly meet the core interests of the two friendly peoples of Russia and Vietnam, contributing to firmly strengthening security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region," Mr. Putin expressed.

In June, as President, General Secretary and President To Lam hosted a welcoming ceremony and held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his state visit to Vietnam. At a press conference after the talks, the President was pleased to announce that the two sides had adopted a Joint Statement to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Ministries, sectors and agencies of the two sides signed many cooperation documents in the fields of education and training, science and technology, justice and sports to contribute to further perfecting the legal basis and promoting bilateral cooperation in depth and effectiveness.
