People in the above areas, especially Lebanon, need to evacuate people and property to third countries or return to Vietnam; as well as comply with regulations and instructions on safety and security measures as prescribed by local authorities.

Faced with the complicated situation in Bangladesh, on August 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warning to Vietnamese citizens not to travel to Bangladesh at this time.

Deputy Spokesperson Doan Khac Viet emphasized that citizens in Bangladesh must be aware of protecting themselves and their families and not go to crowded areas where protests are likely to occur.

Regarding the citizen protection situation in Myanmar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that Vietnamese citizens, unless absolutely necessary, should not travel to areas with complicated developments, such as Shan State or Kayin State in Myanmar. If you are in those areas, quickly have a plan to actively evacuate people and property to safe areas or return to Vietnam.

Mr. Doan Khac Viet stated that, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Middle East, Bangladesh, and Myanmar has also requested local authorities to ensure maximum safety for Vietnamese citizens. At the same time, Vietnamese representative agencies abroad have also proactively developed and implemented citizen protection plans when necessary.

Our representative agencies also need to continue to maintain close contact, increase propaganda, advise and support citizens to move to safe areas.

"We also remind our citizens in the above countries to regularly monitor information and recommendations from local authorities, warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Vietnamese representative agencies in the above countries to keep up to date," Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Doan Khac Viet emphasized.

Urgent announcement on the situation in Lebanon

Faced with the complicated situation due to the escalating conflict in Lebanon, the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and Lebanon issued an urgent notice on August 8.

Accordingly, the current situation in the region, especially in Lebanon, is extremely tense. The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and Lebanon recommends that citizens do not travel to Lebanon at this time.

For citizens currently in Lebanon, it is necessary to leave Lebanon as soon as possible, while airports and commercial flights are still operating. Absolutely do not go near the Lebanon-Israel border and the area south of the capital Beirut.

Citizens should regularly monitor news updates on international and local media. In case of force majeure and being unable to leave Lebanon, they should seek temporary shelter in safer areas and have a plan to stock up on food and medicine in case they cannot go out for several days.

In case of need of assistance, please contact immediately the Embassy of Vietnam in Egypt or the Honorary Consulate of Vietnam in Lebanon.
