Continue to implement the digital transformation strategy of journalism in the Ministry of National Defense

( Bqp.vn ) - On the afternoon of August 14, in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired a conference to report on the implementation plan of the digital transformation strategy for journalism until 2025, with a vision to 2030 in the Ministry of National Defense.

Also attending were Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and representatives of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.

In line with Decision No. 348/QD-TTg dated April 6, 2023 of the Prime Minister, approving the Strategy for digital transformation of the press to 2025, with a vision to 2030; and at the same time implementing the direction of the Head of the General Department of Politics, the Department of Propaganda and Training has developed a draft Plan to implement the strategy for digital transformation of the press in the Army. In which, it is determined that digital transformation must be tight and effective; linking the process of digital transformation of the Army press with the implementation of the Project "Planning for development and management of the national press to 2025" and the Project "Digital transformation in the Ministry of National Defense to 2025, with a vision to 2030". In the process of completing the plan, the Department of Propaganda and Training organized conferences to discuss and complete the draft plan; complete the plan; report to the Head of the General Department of Politics to submit to the Head of the Ministry of National Defense; and at the same time, seek advice from a number of experts; Refer to the implementation plan of the digital transformation strategy of some central ministries and branches; learn about the model and experience of implementing digital transformation of newspapers at some press agencies.

Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh emphasized that promoting the application of information technology in journalism activities has become a development trend of modern journalism, which has been received, enjoyed by readers, and highly appreciated by public opinion. This trend also creates new inspiration for journalism, urging press agencies and journalists to innovate, be creative, and actively adapt to the wave of digital transformation. Digital transformation of journalism helps simplify the management and operation of editorial offices, reduces meetings, and provides faster and more timely information to reporters; thereby contributing to the formation of many methods of journalism, creating many forms of journalistic works, stimulating and expanding readers' needs, innovating the Party's propaganda work, and better meeting the public's information needs.

Based on the plan to implement the digital transformation strategy for the press and the discussion opinions of representatives of functional agencies at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh requested agencies and units to clearly define that digital transformation is a change in methods and implementation methods to improve quality, work efficiency, management efficiency, and reduce time. In particular, the arrangement and conversion of personnel to implement digital transformation must be synchronized with the conversion of working methods, avoiding the situation of increasing organization and staffing.

To effectively implement the plan to deploy the digital transformation strategy for the press, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh requested the functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics to maximally absorb the contributions of the agencies. Actively research and propose specific solutions on digital transformation, content that needs to be supported, ensuring compliance with the Government's Index; the characteristics of the Ministry of National Defense and the e-Government architecture of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, especially the Digital Transformation Project in the Ministry of National Defense. Along with that, provide information and evidence to the functional agencies to serve the assessment and measurement of the effectiveness of digital transformation of the press in the Ministry of National Defense.
