*Pig price in the North

Pig prices in the Northern region currently have no new fluctuations, fluctuating between 64,000 - 66,000 VND/kg.

The lowest price of 64,000 VND/kg was recorded in the two provinces of Lai Cai and Ninh Binh.

The provinces of Yen Bai, Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Thai Binh and Ha Nam have prices higher than 65,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, other provinces still keep the price of live pigs at 66,000 VND/kg.

*Pig price in Central Highlands

In the Central Highlands market, the price of live pigs today is still stable, ranging from 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Of which, Quang Tri, Binh Dinh and Dak Lak continue to be the provinces with the lowest prices at 61,000 VND/kg.

In other provinces, traders buy live pigs at prices ranging from 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

*Pig price in the South

In the Southern market, the price of live pigs remained unchanged, following the market trend, fluctuating between 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in Tay Ninh, Hau Giang and Ca Mau, the highest price is 64,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, Dong Thap and Vinh Long still maintain the lowest price in the region at 61,000 VND/kg.

Other provinces have no price change compared to yesterday morning.

* Ha Tinh announced African swine fever in Xuan Yen commune

African swine fever has appeared at a farm in Yen Nam village (Xuan Yen commune, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province). So far, local authorities and functional agencies have destroyed dozens of pigs, according to Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper.

In response to the epidemic situation, Vice Chairman of Nghi Xuan District People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung signed Decision No. 4123/QD-UBND on declaring an epidemic of African swine fever in Xuan Yen commune. The areas threatened by the epidemic are Xuan Hai, Xuan Thanh communes, Tien Dien town. The buffer zone is Xuan Pho, Co Dam, Xuan Giang, Xuan My communes.

Nghi Xuan District People's Committee assigned the district and local specialized departments, agencies and branches to focus on guiding, urging, directing, inspecting, supervising, seriously, synchronously and drastically implementing measures to prevent, contain and suppress African swine fever in epidemic areas, threatened areas and buffer zones; promptly prevent the disease from spreading widely; guide the dossier to propose support for households whose pigs are destroyed according to regulations...
