At the meeting, the two sides agreed on the contents of building the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) Smart Border Gate; promoting the construction of a cross-border economic cooperation zone through industry and trade cooperation at Hai Yen Industrial Park, Van Ninh International Port in Mong Cai; promoting the construction of a cross-border e-commerce industrial park; promoting the construction of traffic connection projects between the two cities (including the international railway section Mong Cai - Dongxing, Bac Luan III bridge, auxiliary crude steel bridge); at the same time, agreed on the contents of tourism cooperation across the Vietnam-China border including self-driving tourist cars, day tours, new tourism products, cross-border cycling and agreed on activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the relationship between the two friendly cities of Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China).

Within the framework of the talks, Chairman of Mong Cai City People's Committee Ho Quang Huy and Mayor of Dongxing City People's Government Li Jian signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation mechanism, research on building smart border gates, as a basis to promote the implementation of building Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) International Border Gate to become a pair of smart border gates.

This meeting aims to concretize the content of the 2025 Spring Meeting Program between the Secretaries of 5 provinces/regions and the 16th Conference of the Joint Working Committee between the provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang (Vietnam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), promoting friendly cooperation in all fields between the two localities in the coming time.

Over the years, the foreign relations between Mong Cai (Vietnam) and the localities of Guangxi (China) have been built firmly, in depth, substantively and effectively. Mong Cai is the only district-level locality in Vietnam to be honored with the award "Excellent Partner of Friendship City with China" voted by the China Friendship Association, thereby creating strategic trust to promote cooperation activities in all fields to new heights.
