On the morning of August 10, the Prime Minister's working delegation worked with Ho Chi Minh City on socio-economic results and the implementation of Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City (Resolution 98).

Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister and Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, co-chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were comrades: Tran Hong Ha, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Chi Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Planning and Investment; Tran Van Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister, Chairman of the Government Office; Nguyen Thanh Nghi, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Construction; Phan Van Mai, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Ho Hai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; along with comrades of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities.

In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that the conference go straight to the difficult and stuck issues that need to be resolved; and draw lessons from good practices to implement them better.

Emphasizing that the tasks for the last months of the year are very large and especially important, the Prime Minister requested that the conference focus on discussing to promote the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City, implementing the Government's goals of stabilizing the macro-economy, controlling inflation, and promoting the economy...

Assessing these as very important contents for Ho Chi Minh City, a locality with a special role and position in the whole country. Because Ho Chi Minh City's economic growth increases by 1%, it contributes 0.17% - 0.18% to the whole country, in addition to making a large contribution to budget revenue...

In addition, the conference also needs to discuss obstacles and difficulties to find solutions. The Prime Minister assessed that there are currently many institutional problems, but high political determination is needed to resolve them. Recently, the Government has resolutely used one law to amend many laws and this will be accelerated in the coming time.

“Given the importance of the conference, I request that the conference focus on providing objective and honest assessments and drawing lessons for better direction and leadership,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
