( Bqp.vn ) - On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), on the afternoon of July 27, the Government delegation led by Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member and Prime Minister, offered incense to commemorate and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs at the National Historical Site on July 27 (Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province), the National Historical Site of 60 Martyrs of Youth Volunteers Company 915 (Thai Nguyen city, Thai Nguyen province) and presented gifts to policy families in the area.

The delegation included Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung; leaders of Thai Nguyen province, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association.

Respectfully offering incense and flowers to pay tribute to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegates expressed their respect and deep gratitude to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader, national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity and the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people; vowing to always unite, overcome all difficulties, and excellently fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and People.

Speaking at the 27/7 National Historical Site, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that “When drinking water, remember its source” and “When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree” are good and precious traditions, nurtured and cultivated by many generations of Vietnamese people throughout thousands of years of the nation’s history. On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent to the veteran revolutionaries, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution across the country in general and Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province in particular, his deepest feelings, kind regards and gratitude.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested all levels, sectors and localities, including Thai Nguyen province, to continue promoting the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source”, thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Directive of the Secretariat on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over the work of people with revolutionary contributions, the Ordinance on preferential treatment for people with revolutionary contributions; continue to study and implement the increase of appropriate social allowances and preferential allowances; increase the attraction of social resources, promote the movement of “Repaying gratitude”; contribute to compensating for the disadvantages of people with revolutionary contributions and their families. Localities, agencies and units call on each organization and individual, with specific and practical actions and a high sense of responsibility, to be proactive and creative in implementing more practical activities, considering this a duty, responsibility and also a sentiment to express deep gratitude to those who have devoted and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national reunification and firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
