According to a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the sample exam questions for grade 10 high school may be announced this August, instead of announcing them in May - one month before the exam, like in 2024.

Regarding the specific exam plan, this unit will soon announce it to candidates and parents.

In 2024, 10th graders in Hanoi will take 3 subjects, including Math and Literature in essay format, with a duration of 120 minutes; English will be multiple choice in 60 minutes. Compared to previous years' exams, the sample exam has a similar structure.

In addition, this year, in order to support students and teachers in their review, the Department of Education and Training also announced the exam format and the level of knowledge asked in each type of question.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Hanoi has 11,191 students registering for the 10th grade entrance exam at 4 specialized schools (Hanoi-Amsterdam, Nguyen Hue, Chu Van An, Son Tay), and 106,492 candidates registering for the entrance exam at 117 public high schools. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training counts the number of registrations for the first choice (NV1), NV2, NV3 for each school, classified by each enrollment area.

Yen Hoa High School has the highest competition ratio of 1/3.11, meaning that on average, for every three candidates taking the exam, one passes. This is also the third consecutive year that the competition ratio for grade 10 in Hanoi has exceeded 1/3.

Le Quy Don High School - Ha Dong ranked second with 1/2.9. Ranked third was Tran Hung Dao School, also in this district, with a ratio of 1/2.55. Both schools this year reduced their enrollment quota by 90, contributing to the high competition rate.

High schools with a competition ratio of over 1/2 include Tay Ho, Thang Long, Kim Lien, Nhan Chinh, Hoang Van Thu, Ngoc Hoi, Duong Xa, Nguyen Van Cu, Dong Anh, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai...
