At the 2024 Olympics, Vietnam has 16 athletes competing in 11 events. At the end of the competition day on August 3, we could not get any medals, even though 13 athletes competed in 15 events.

Shooter Trinh Thu Vinh was perhaps the most successful, as she qualified for the two events of the women's 10m air pistol and the women's 25m sport pistol with high scores. However, in both events in the final, the athlete from Thanh Hoa could not make it to the top 3 to win a medal.

Swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang also competed in two events at the Paris Olympics: the men's 800m freestyle and the men's 1500m freestyle. However, the athlete from Quang Binh achieved lower than his potential in the qualifying round and could not compete in the final.

In badminton, Le Duc Phat defeated Fabian Roth (Germany) but lost to Prannoy Haseena (India) in the men's singles and was eliminated in the group stage. Nguyen Thuy Linh was in a similar situation when she beat Tiffany Ho (Australia) but lost to Beiwen Zhang (USA) and could not participate in the knockout round.

In archery, two archers Do Thi Anh Nguyet and Le Quoc Phong stopped at the round of 32 in the mixed single-reed bow event, and also failed to pass the qualifying round in the mixed double single-reed bow event.

Boxer Ha Thi Linh won her opening match in the round of 16 of the women's 60kg category against Feofaaki Epenisa (Tonga), but she was stopped by world number one Yang Wenlu (China) in the round of 16.

Vietnamese athletes who said goodbye to the 2024 Olympics after one day of competition were Le Thi Mong Tuyen (women's 10m air rifle shooting), Hoang Thi Tinh (women's 48kg judo), Vo Thi Kim Anh (women's 54kg boxing), Tran Thi Nhi Yen (women's 100m track and field) and Vo Thi My Tien (women's 200m medley swimming).

In rowing, Pham Thi Hue, despite her best efforts, only finished 23rd out of 24 athletes in the semi-finals of the women's heavyweight single sculls. The Vietnamese team has only 3 athletes who have not yet competed and still hope to win a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Racer Nguyen Thi That will compete in the women's road cycling race on August 4, while weightlifter Trinh Van Vinh will compete in the men's under-61kg weightlifting event on August 7. On August 8, rower Nguyen Thi Huong will compete in the canoeing qualifying round for the women's 200m single sculls.
