On August 11, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province announced a diphtheria epidemic in Muong Lat town after 3 cases of diphtheria were recorded in the locality. On the afternoon of August 12, Ms. Ha Thi Phuc, Director of Muong Lat District Medical Center (Thanh Hoa province), said that the unit had just proposed to the competent authority to supplement 25,000 doses of tetanus-diphtheria adsorbed vaccine to vaccinate subjects at risk and high risk of diphtheria in Muong Lat town and 3 neighboring communes.
