This afternoon, March 31, the Economic - Budget Committee of the People's Council of Quang Tri province worked with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to review the contents related to the task of adjusting the Master Plan for the construction of Lao Bao Special Economic - Commercial Zone, Quang Tri province until 2045, expected to be submitted at the upcoming meeting of the Provincial People's Council.

The project to adjust the Master Plan for Construction of Lao Bao Special Economic - Commercial Zone, Quang Tri province to 2045 has an area of 15,804 hectares, including 2 towns: Lao Bao, Khe Sanh and 5 communes: Tan Thanh, Tan Long, Tan Lap, Tan Lien, Tan Hop (Huong Hoa district).
The project aims to concretize the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on the direction and goals of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, planning for the North Central and Central Coast regions, and planning for Quang Tri province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
Building Lao Bao Special Economic - Commercial Zone into a dynamic and sustainable economic growth pole of Quang Tri province; in line with Vietnam's border gate economic development strategy, Quang Tri Province Planning for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050 and socio-economic development orientations of the province and the country.
At the meeting, representatives of the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and the consulting unit reported and clarified the contents related to the results of the implementation of the Master Plan for the Construction of Lao Bao Special Economic - Commercial Zone to 2025, which was reviewed by the Provincial People's Committee and reported in detail in Submission No. 216/TTr-UBND dated November 21, 2023, submitted to the Prime Minister to request permission to adjust the Master Plan for the Construction of Lao Bao Special Economic - Commercial Zone, Quang Tri province to 2045.
It clearly states the legal basis, procedures; conformity with the national master plan, national sectoral plan, planning of the North Central and Central Coast regions, planning of Quang Tri province for the period 2021-2030... At the same time, it explains a number of issues related to the reasons, the necessity of adjusting the plan and the specific objectives of the project.
The Provincial Economic Zone Management Board recommends that the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council advise and submit to the Provincial People's Council for approval the task of adjusting the Master Plan for the construction of Lao Bao Special Economic - Commercial Zone until 2045 as a basis for submission to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal before submitting to the Prime Minister for approval.
Based on the explanatory report of the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and the consulting unit, along with the opinions exchanged and discussed, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Anh requested the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to continue to receive comments to supplement and complete the task report on Adjusting the Master Plan for the construction of Lao Bao Special Economic - Trade Zone, Quang Tri province until 2045 to submit to the Provincial People's Committee to integrate the contents into the submission, draft resolution to be sent to the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council for synthesis, reporting to the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council before taking the next steps.
