Team Africa is proud of Vietnam

Bringing Vietnamese identity to the African people has always been the wish of my group of friends and I. This small act to let the people here know about Vietnamese culture and is welcomed by the Angolan people makes me very happy. That is the sharing of Pham Quang Linh (Pham Quang Linh Vlog, 24 years old, from Nghe An), currently living in Angola (Africa). Linh and his group of friends are bringing a new "life" to this country that is only scorching and arid all year round.

The work of Linh and her group of friends was also recorded by Pham Quang Linh himself through the photo series "Team Africa is proud of Vietnam". The photo series was sent by the author to participate in the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam", organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications. 5 years ago, Linh decided to go to the country on the other side of the world to find a new life. When he first came here, the Nghe An native worked in construction. After working for a while and saving a little capital, Linh opened a small stone workshop to do business. This was also the time when Linh got involved with Youtube in 2019. Linh shared: “ My job here was initially in construction, then I started working in a stone workshop. At this time, I just recorded a clip and posted it on Youtube in the hope that people would watch and share my work here so that my relatives could know about life away from home. I didn't think that so many people would know about it like now."

The above activities were well received and urged the group of young people to do better for the people here. Linh and the group discussed and decided to carry out a project called “5000 children go to school”. This project started less than a month ago when they saw the difficulties of the children here who do not have the conditions to go to school.

“This project is the group's biggest passion. Besides the desire to help send 5,000 children to school, the group is also renovating the children's learning places, including painting classrooms and buying desks and chairs for them,” Linh said about the group's project.

Vietnamese guys with the same aspirations, the same love for Vietnam, the people, and Angola as their second home. We met, bonded, and joined hands to contribute to the people and the land of faraway Africa. That is Team Africa. We are proud to be Vietnamese, proud to bring the image of Vietnam to our African friends from the most ordinary and simple things.

According to Linh, the journey to the Angolan people comes from the heart of each member of the group. He was enthusiastically helped by strangers when he first arrived here. This is the time when he wants to bring something good to them. "I feel that they live better every day and are happy despite lacking many things. Because of things like that, I want to help more people" - Linh was moved. In 2024, the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam" continues to be organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists on the website https://happy.vietnam.vn is open to all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners aged 15 and over. The contest aims to honor individuals and groups with positive information products, making practical contributions to the propaganda and promotion of a beautiful image of Vietnam to the world.
