Universities begin virtual screening for admission
Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thien Phuc, Vice Principal of the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said that today (August 12), universities coordinated with the Ministry of Education and Training to review the database on the common admission support system.
According to the plan, from 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (August 13), schools will upload the database on the system to review and organize the admission exam. By the morning of August 14, schools will upload the first admission exam results of all the school's admission methods to the system. By the end of August 14, the virtual admission screening system will return the results of the first round of processing.

According to this process, the virtual filtering will start from tomorrow until 5:00 p.m. on August 17. In which, the Ministry of Education and Training will conduct 6 virtual filtering sessions nationwide. In parallel, 2 virtual filtering groups of schools in the North and South will conduct virtual filtering for each group of schools. In which, the virtual filtering group in the South is coordinated by Ho Chi Minh City National University, and is expected to conduct virtual filtering about 10 times. After the last virtual filtering session nationwide, universities will upload the results of processing wishes and prepare for the announcement of standard scores.
Before 5:00 p.m. on August 17, schools will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system; review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results according to the general schedule. The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that schools announce the first round of admission results before 5:00 p.m. on August 19, but many schools plan to announce the results on August 17.
How do candidates apply to member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University?
According to information from the University of Technology, this year the school recorded over 17,000 candidates registering for admission to the school (double the number from last year). While the school's enrollment quota remains stable, the level of competition among candidates will increase.
The University of Information Technology also received over 8,800 applicants. Of these, the number of applicants for some majors increased sharply, such as artificial intelligence, computer science, and information technology. According to the school's forecast, the school's benchmark this year will increase by 0.5 - 1 point depending on the major. Last year, the benchmark for the school's majors ranged from 25.4 - 27.8; the leading major was artificial intelligence, followed by data science.
The number of candidates applying to the University of Economics and Law also increased by about 17% and the total number of wishes increased by about 13%. Of which, the number of candidates applying alone increased by about 2,400 compared to last year, so the standard score will likely increase accordingly.
Meanwhile, International University has about 8,000 registered candidates, equivalent to 2023.
