Strengthening cooperation in trade promotion between the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). |
Within the framework of the official visit to Vietnam of Mr. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China), on August 1, in Hanoi, under the witness of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang together with Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China) Lee Ka-Chieu and relevant ministries and agencies, a ceremony was held to exchange cooperation documents with Hong Kong (China) partners, including a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in trade promotion between the Trade Promotion Department (VIETRADE) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
The Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the two Parties includes the following main contents:
Update and exchange information on trade policies, share market data, investment opportunities and related market information; coordinate the organization and support of economic and trade delegations of the two Parties, promote cooperation in trade fields under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam; coordinate the organization of seminars and exhibitions in each Party's market and encourage the participation of the business community of each Party.
Support businesses of both sides to connect, optimize cooperation potential in trade promotion; remove difficulties and obstacles in cooperation between the two sides.
Support sharing of practical experiences; exchange of technical training programs to help the Vietnamese and Hong Kong (China) business communities, especially in promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion.
The signing of the MOU will help the two sides create a stable, systematic and sustainable cooperation mechanism, especially in coordinating the establishment of plans to implement trade promotion activities in the coming time, contributing to promoting the cooperation between the Department of Trade Promotion and HKTDC in particular and strengthening the economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Hong Kong (China) in general.
Up to now, the Trade Promotion Agency has signed Memorandums of Understanding on trade promotion cooperation with more than 50 international agencies and organizations operating in the field of trade promotion of many countries and territories around the world to strengthen the cooperative relationship between VIETRADE and its partners, and at the same time, it is an important basis for coordinating and organizing trade promotion activities, supporting and connecting Vietnamese enterprises with foreign enterprises.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is the focal point for trade promotion activities of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China). The HKTDC is responsible for promoting and developing foreign trade of Hong Kong goods and services with the global market, implementing trade promotion activities, supporting Hong Kong (China) enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises in transactions and connecting trade with foreign enterprises. Through a network of 45 representative offices worldwide, the HKTDC aims to exploit new markets to create more opportunities for international trade development as well as enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong's small and medium-sized enterprises. |
