Ms. Tran Thi Giang, President of the Women's Union of Tan Lap commune, said: With the motto "where there are women, there is a union movement", in recent times, the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of the commune has regularly thought, researched, and innovated methods to improve the effectiveness of its activities. In particular, it focuses on maintaining and expanding the models of folk dance, art, aerobic clubs, and women saving to help each other develop the economy, thereby creating a vibrant emulation movement, attracting women to participate. In particular, the Women's Union of the commune has taken advantage of and promoted the positive factors of social networks such as Zalo, Facebook, and the fanpage of the Women's Union of the commune to mobilize women to participate in activities and emulation movements launched by the Union, promoting typical good people, good deeds... This is an environment that receives a lot of positive interaction from women today, so we propagate quite conveniently and promptly. In addition, the association at all levels regularly visits cadres, members, sick women, and families with deceased relatives. The branches innovate the content and methods of operation, pay attention to the needs and interests of members, and focus on building specific models to attract women to the association. Currently, the whole commune has more than 1,200 members in 6 branches, reaching a rate of 86.5%, of which there are 316 core members, reaching a rate of 26.2%, the rate of regular participation in activities is 91.5%.
With the spirit of mutual love, the Women's Union at all levels from the commune to the village regularly cares for and helps women and children in difficult circumstances and cases of sudden risks. In 2024 alone, from funds, mobilization, and coordination, the Women's Union of the commune and its branches visited and presented 935 gifts worth over 428 million VND. In addition, the Union continues to maintain and replicate the "Love Rice Jar" model; sponsor 9 orphans in difficult circumstances; effectively maintain the "Turning waste into money" model, encourage branches to replicate the model, the money collected from this model is donated to orphans, members' families, and women in difficult circumstances.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, Tan De village, head of Tam Duc volunteer group said: In the past time, through the connection of the Commune Women's Union, the group has supported and helped many women and children in difficult circumstances in the locality, not only giving gifts and cash, the group also donated clean water projects; participated in decorating and cleaning martyrs' cemeteries; supported the construction of solidarity houses, charity shelters, charity rice jars... with tens of millions of VND.
To promote the implementation of the campaign to build "Family of 5 no, 3 clean" and "Family of 5 yes, 3 clean", the Commune Women's Union organized conferences to propagate the campaign, handle and classify waste at source, contributing to reducing the amount of waste that must be treated. Currently, the Union is effectively maintaining 6 models of "Women's Union building family of 5 yes, 3 clean" with 240 members, 6 models of "waste classification at source" with 450 members participating. The Union has mobilized 8 million VND from socialized sources to donate a clean water project to Ms. Vu Thi Tram's family, Tang Bong village. In 2024, 1,119 households will achieve "Family of 5 no, 3 clean" and "Family of 5 yes, 3 clean" (reaching 93%), thereby contributing to the Party Committee and people in the commune to strive to reach the goal of advanced new rural areas and move towards the goal of model new rural areas. In economic development, the women's unions at all levels in the commune focus on propagating and mobilizing female members to actively change the structure of crops and livestock, and apply science and technology to production. The Women's Union of the commune has coordinated to organize many conferences to transfer science and technology to members and women; improve the quality of management, and effectively use loan capital. The union has helped 3 women's families escape poverty and also from loan capital and knowledge trained, many female members have boldly changed production models on a large scale, bringing high income value, many examples of women doing good business have been introduced by the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of the commune for members to learn and replicate typical examples.
Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Theu, a member of the Women's Union of Bong Dien Bac village, said: To increase income, my family has boldly switched to the model of raising koi fish and growing Dien grapefruit. Currently, my family has 1.5 hectares of koi pond; on average, each year we sell about 3 tons of koi fish at a price of 90,000 - 120,000 VND/kg. Compared to traditional fish, koi fish are 2 - 3 times more economically efficient. In addition, my family also grows 200 Dien grapefruit trees and 10,000 leaf trees. Thanks to that, my family's income has improved day by day, life has been improved, and I myself have the opportunity to participate in local volunteer activities.
With creativity and innovation in thinking and methods of organizing activities, over the years, the Women's Union of Tan Lap commune has always been a bright spot in the association's work and women's movement, being praised and rewarded by all levels and sectors.
