The Reunification train includes train SE1 departing from Hanoi station at 20:55 on April 29, arriving at Saigon station at 6:50 on May 1, 2025, and train SE4 departing from Saigon station at 19:00 on April 29, arriving at Hanoi station at 5:40 on May 1, 2025.

The two trains are expected to meet at Da Nang station at 12:40 on April 30, 2025, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

At the farewell ceremony on the evening of April 29, Vietnam Railways, in coordination with its partners, prepared many surprise gifts for passengers on trains SE1 and SE4. During the journey, passengers will enjoy live music performances: from Hue station to Da Nang station on train SE1, and from Tam Ky station to Da Nang station on train SE4. Passengers will be welcomed with a special ceremony at Da Nang station on April 30.

Speaking at the station on the evening of April 29, Mr. Hoang Gia Khanh - General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation said: After the country was reunified in 1975, the North - South railway line was reconnected and the train was named "Unification Train", becoming the clearest symbol of national unity, connecting the two ends of the country after many years of division.

The Thong Nhat train has become a part of the memories of many Vietnamese people, not only as a means of transportation but also as a historical witness, a bridge connecting people across the country...

The Reunification Train in modern times, especially on April 30, is not simply a North-South journey, but also a living symbol of history, patriotism and national unity. The Vietnam Railways industry wants to send a message to young people: Let's preserve the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking water", be grateful to the previous generations who sacrificed for independence and peace.

Sharing his feelings when serving passengers on the special train, Deputy Head of SE4 Train Dao Xuan Sang said: "I feel very proud and moved to serve passengers on the journey from the South to the North on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. Working in a unified, peaceful country that generations of ancestors sacrificed their blood and bones to regain, I promise to constantly learn to improve my skills and strive to become a useful person for society, contributing my small part to building and preserving the beautiful country."

Arriving at the station early before the train departed, many passengers shared that they felt surprised and lucky to be on train SE4 on the evening of April 29. "This journey is very special. I feel moved and proud to relive the historical atmosphere. The Reunification Train not only connects regions by rail, but also connects people's hearts, reminding us of our responsibility to preserve the achievements of our ancestors," said Mr. Phung Thai Son.
