Coordinating Minister for Investment and Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said he encouraged state oil company PT Pertamina to continue to make good use of advanced technology to ensure the accurate distribution of subsidized gasoline. Those who do not deserve it will not receive subsidized fuel.
Earlier, Pertamina CEO Nicke Widyawati announced that AI has been used to comprehensively manage its business operations from upstream to downstream. AI is used to process and analyze data faster, allowing for more accurate decision-making. With the help of advanced technology, Pertamina can process data on about 15 million subsidized fuel transactions per day.

According to Pertamina experts, the application of AI in processing transaction data from the Public Fueling Station (SPBU) system has significantly reduced operating costs as well as reduced deviations in the distribution of subsidized fuel.
Minister Panjaitan also continued to appreciate the use of digital technology, highlighting Indonesia's success in saving up to Rp 3,000 billion by making full use of the government's digital procurement platform e-Katalog.
In addition to deploying AI to tighten control over subsidized fuel, Minister Pandjaitan praised the Coal and Mineral Information System for Ministries/Agencies (Simbara) for helping the government increase revenue. By deploying an automated blocking system to settle arrears, the government has collected Rp 1,100 billion (nearly US$68 million) in state revenue.
According to the Indonesian Minister, with all those benefits, using technology has significantly increased the efficiency of the state budget.
