During the inspection, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province requested sand mining units to speed up the progress to supply for the construction of the expressway project. In particular, sand mining units must comply with the committed reserves and ensure environmental protection conditions. In addition, the leaders of Soc Trang province also affirmed that they will accompany sand mining units.

"If any problems arise during the exploitation process, the Provincial People's Committee will direct timely resolution. The province will create maximum conditions for units to exploit sand effectively, ensuring timely sand supply for highway construction in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction," said Mr. Lau.

The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Component 4 project is over 58 km long, with a total investment of nearly 12,000 billion VND. To date, the project is still about 5% behind schedule due to a lack of sand for leveling the ground.
