Speaking with VietNamNet, Dr. Huynh Trung Phong, Director of the Center for Student Support and Startup Development, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, said that according to the school's statistics, the number of direct admission candidates who have enrolled is 46/107, reaching 43%.

The number of candidates registering for admission is 31,252, an increase of 100% compared to 2023 (with the number of candidates being 15,596).

Meanwhile, the number of applications for admission to the school is 51,625, compared to 23,345 in 2023, an increase of 120%.

Mr. Phong said that the above statistics include candidates and wishes eligible for early admission who have successfully registered on the general admission support system of the Ministry of Education and Training.

"With this figure, the desire to be admitted to the school by any method has increased. Meanwhile, the remaining quota for the admission method using high school graduation exam results of the majors fluctuates from 10% to 60% according to the admission plan," said Mr. Phong.

Mr. Phong said that predicting the benchmark score needs to consider many factors, the most important of which is the number of applications submitted to each major. However, with the current situation, most benchmark scores for majors are either unchanged or increased compared to last year.

It is expected that the hot and high-scoring majors are: Mathematics Pedagogy, Chemistry Pedagogy, Literature Pedagogy, Physics Pedagogy, History Pedagogy, English Pedagogy, Primary Pedagogy...

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced the 2024 benchmark scores for early admission methods. Notably, in the admission method using high school academic results (the admission score is the average score of 3 subjects in 6 semesters in high school, corresponding to the subject combination for admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam results, plus priority points (if any). Chemistry Pedagogy has the highest benchmark score of 29.81 (ie candidates must achieve over 9.9 points per subject to be admitted).

Many other majors also have benchmark scores above 28 such as Primary Education 28.66; Civic Education 28.03; Political Education 28.22; National Security and Defense 28.01; Mathematics Education 29.55; Physics Education 29.48; Biology Education 29.46; Literature Education 28.92; History Education 29.05; Geography Education 28.57; English Education 28.81; Chinese Education 28.16; Natural Science Education 28.68; History-Geography Education 28.23...

In nearly 50 training majors, the benchmark score for most majors is 26 or higher, only 1 major at Long An branch training college level has a lower benchmark score.

Sharing with VietNamNet, Mr. Le Phan Quoc, Deputy Head of Training Department, said that the high standard scores of academic transcripts for each major are due to the low enrollment quota of the school using this method.

"The school only recruits a maximum of 10% of its quota based on transcripts, so many majors only recruit 2 candidates. Specifically, Chemistry Education, Physics Education, Biology Education, History Education, etc. all recruit 2 candidates based on this method, leading to very high benchmark scores. On the other hand, the number of candidates applying for admission based on transcripts this year is high," Mr. Quoc informed.

Mr. Quoc added that the number of applications for admission based on academic records this year increased 1.5 times compared to 2023. More than 14,000 candidates applied for admission based on academic records. Meanwhile, only about 400 candidates were admitted by this method, so nearly 14,000 excellent students failed.

In 2023, the highest admission score for Ho Chi Minh City University of Education from the high school graduation exam score is 27, belonging to Literature Pedagogy. Many other majors are in the range of 25-26.9.
