The contest is supported by the project "Hue - Plastic-reducing city in Central Vietnam" sponsored by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF - Vietnam) to create a healthy, useful and practical playground for tourism students.

The contest has found 10 groups of ideas on reducing plastic waste in the tourism service business to enter the final round.
Launched in June, after nearly 2 months, 10 ideas from contestant groups entered the final round with new initiatives, creating products by recycling plastic waste.
After selection, the jury chose to award first prize to the C16TE team with the idea of reusing the peels of fruits containing essential oils such as oranges, tangerines, grapefruits... to make dishwashing liquid.

The winning idea in the competition
Mr. Pham Ba Hung, Principal of Hue College of Tourism, said that the contest created opportunities for students to demonstrate their creativity and apply solutions to reduce plastic waste into practice; at the same time, it encouraged tourism businesses to apply environmentally friendly measures.
This is not only an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they have learned, but also an opportunity to develop important skills such as creative thinking, problem solving skills and teamwork spirit.

The judges highly appreciated the ideas of the competing groups.
In the coming time, the school will organize a forum to discuss green consumption, combined with a fair to introduce green products to create a space for students, lecturers, and businesses to discuss, share experiences, and seek sustainable solutions for the tourism industry.
