Inspector Lee Han Sheng, head of operations at Woodlands Police Station, said the LED-lit entry and exit system will help people easily reach the entrances at Marina Bay Sands and control the flow of crowds, especially when people start to disperse at the end of the fireworks display.
Two illuminated balloon signs will be deployed near Raffles City Centre to help the public navigate and find their way to the MRT station in the dark.
The Singapore Police will deploy Mobicams, along with static surveillance cameras, at areas where crowds gather on National Day, such as the War Memorial. The Mobicams are equipped with flashing lights, speakers and electronic signs, allowing police to broadcast both audible warnings and visual messages to the public.
In addition, nearly 2,000 police officers from land units will be deployed to ensure security in Padang and its surrounding areas, with support from auxiliary police officers, the Singapore Civil Defence Force, the Singapore Armed Forces and the Ministry of Health to respond to contingencies.
