75 years ago (April 4, 1949), in the middle of the mountains and forests of ATK Viet Bac, Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was born (now in Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province). This was the first journalism training facility of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press and also the only training facility during the resistance war against French colonialism.

In March 2019, the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was ranked as a national monument. On April 4, 2019, the Vietnam Journalists Association in collaboration with Thai Nguyen province inaugurated the monument stele on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School.

In 2024, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School, the Vietnam Journalists Association coordinated with the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province to renovate and embellish the National Monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School.

On January 18, the groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration of the national monument Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School was held. After 7 months of construction, the monument project has basically completed the main items.

After restoration and embellishment, the relic is expected to be exploited and organized to welcome delegations of visitors, journalists, students and pupils to study and experience the history of journalism. At the same time, this is also a place to organize conferences and seminars on journalism, organize short-term training programs, issue membership cards of the Vietnam Journalists Association, award ceremonies for regional and local journalism awards, etc.

The Vietnam Journalists Association hopes that when put into operation, the exhibitions on Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School and Viet Bac War Zone Press here will not only contribute to preserving and introducing valuable press documents and artifacts from the period 1946-1954 but also affirm the great achievements of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press in the struggles to defend the country and in the journey of national construction.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: “We plan to coordinate with relevant agencies to include the Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School relic in the list of tourist attractions of the “Windy Capital” - the capital of the country during the resistance war against French colonialism (including Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan), in which Thai Nguyen holds a particularly important position, the central position of the “Resistance Capital”.

We will also step up propaganda to local journalist associations, branches and journalist associations nationwide with the hope that all journalists will clearly see the importance of this relic, thereby considering it a red address for journalists, especially young journalists, to turn to the source, to learn about the glorious history of journalism, listen to stories about generations of predecessors and build for the future of the country's journalism."

To celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the inauguration and handover ceremony of the restoration and embellishment project of the National Historical Site of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School will be held on the morning of August 9.
