Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh said that one of the great opportunities for the development of Dong Nai's service and tourism industry is when Long Thanh International Airport comes into operation in the next 2 years. Because the first phase of the airport is expected to have about 77 thousand passengers coming to Dong Nai every day and increase to more than 200 thousand people when the second phase is in operation.

However, whether passengers stay in Dong Nai for tourism or go elsewhere depends on the provision of local services and destinations. If the services meet the needs, just keeping a number of the above passengers is a great opportunity to develop services and tourism.

Along with the 5,000ha area for the construction of Long Thanh International Airport, Dong Nai province has calculated that there will be 20,000ha planned for airport urban development. In particular, it is necessary to specifically calculate the area for services and tourism to invest in synchronous infrastructure, high-class accommodation, and meet the needs of tourists.

The Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee proposed that the Provincial Tourism Steering Committee cooperate with localities and businesses to design five tourism routes to be announced after Long Thanh airport comes into operation, namely: Long Thanh-Bien Hoa-Vinh Cuu; Long Thanh-Dau Giay-Dinh Quan-Tan Phu-Lam Dong; Long Thanh-Long Khanh-Xuan Loc-Binh Thuan; Long Thanh-Cam My-Vung Tau; Long Thanh-Nhon Trach.

Dong Nai Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh suggested that the locality should organize one to two regional and national tourism events per year.

In addition, to further develop Dong Nai tourism, comrade Nguyen Hong Linh suggested that relevant units must calculate and organize one or two regional and national events a year to attract domestic and international visitors to Dong Nai.

In the immediate future, research on organizing the Dong Nai Pottery and Balloon Festival on April 30, 2025. By organizing high-class festivals, contribute to changing the image of Dong Nai, so that people at home and abroad not only know this as a place of industrial labor but also a rich, beautiful and hospitable land.

From the reality of tourism development in recent times, the head of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee noted that sectors and localities must focus on 6 issues: New tourism products; new tourism projects; infrastructure for tourism development; upgrading historical sites; quality and quantity of tourism human resources and planning land area for tourism.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, in the first 7 months of 2024, Dong Nai tourism welcomed more than 2.1 million visitors, an increase of 17.8% and tourism service revenue reached 1,385 billion VND, an increase of more than 29% over the same period in 2023.

Some key tourism projects are being cleared by the authorities to speed up progress. However, in reality, due to the low starting point of Dong Nai tourism, diverse tourism resources but small scale and scattered, it is difficult to attract investment, especially large enterprises with capacity and experience in developing high-quality tourism products, creating breakthroughs for tourism.

Although tourism products have developed, their overall attractiveness is not high, and there are not many outstanding tourism products to form a chain of local service products.
